Abi Shalom Matthews 35, of Malta, died Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at her residence. She was the beloved daughter of David L. Matthews of Malta and Peggy Cox Matthews of McConnelsville, born November 28, 1973 in Newark. She was a STNA nursing assistant at Cedar Ridge Nursing Home in Zanesville. She is survived by her parents, one son, Devonte Goins of the home, two daughters, Shaneeka and Doneeqwa Goins both of the home, three brothers, David L. Matthews Jr. of Upper Arlington, Noah Matthews of Malta, and Benjamin Matthews of McConnelsville, two sisters, Rachel Matthews of Oaklyn New Jersey, and Ann Mayle of Malta, grandmother Bessie Butcher of Marietta, and several nieces and nephews. She was a loving mother to her children and loved her family. Services will be Monday, June 8, 2009 at 2:00p.m. at the Mt. Hermon Church near Bartlett with Pastor Delbert Bennett officiating with burial following in Mt Hermon Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, June 7 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill.
