Alberta E. Hook, 100, of Stockport, passed away on Fri, Jan. 30, 2026 at the Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus. She was born on Nov. 4, 1925 in Roxbury, Ohio to the late Vernon and Jessie Williams Ross. She graduated from the White Cross School of Nursing but spent most of her life as a homemaker raising her children and working on the family farm. She was a member of the Stockport United methodist Church and was very active volunteering for the church and the Stockport Schools. She is survived by 3 sons, Stevan (Michelle) Hook of Stockport, John Hook of Stockport and Henry (Barbara) Hook of Pikeville, a daughter, Susanne (Tom) Burchett of Beverly, a sister, Elaine Sudnick of Athens, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bryant “Buggs” Hook, a brother, Jewell Neal Ross, a sister, Virginia Barrett and a grandson, Wesley Hook. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stockport Community Church.  A celebration of life service will be held on March 14, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at the Stockport Community Methodist Church Community Room with a meal following. Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville is handling the arrangements.
