Obituary

Ancil W. King, Sr., 82, of McConnelsville passed away at 9:45 a.m. Sunday June 8, 2014 at his home. He was born April 29,1932 in Noble County to the late Robert King and Minnie Belle Bates King.

Ancil was a farmer and a mechanic and was the owner & operator of Kings Auto Repair for 60 Years. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the 11th Airbourne Division. He also served in the Ohio National Guard for 34 years and retired as Chief Warrant Officier. Ancil was a Deutz tractor dealer for 10 years and was a longtime member and elder of the Seventh St. Church of Christ in McConnelsville. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #4713 of Malta and the American Legion Post #24 of McConnelsville.

Ancil was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Feldner King; two daughters, Diana (Doug) Clifton of McConnelsville and Penny Carr of Canton; three sons, Ancil (Connie) King, Jr. of McConneslville, Duane (Patsy) King of Chesterhill and Danny "Muggs" King of McConnelsville; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Arthur King of Eaton, Ohio.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda King; four brothers, Harold, Gene, Carl, and Paul King; and four sisters, Glenna Glasgow, Lela Fogle, Freda Wharton, and Mary Lou Zents.

Calling hours will be Tuesday June 10, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Seventh St. Church of Christ in McConnelsville where funeral services will be held Wednesday June 11, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Evang. Sam Bartrug and Randy Baker officiating. He will be laid to rest in Olive Cemetery in Caldwell. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #24 Color Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Seventh St. Church of Christ. Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville is in charge of the arrangements.
