Anthony Lee Simmons, 99, of McConnelsville, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at his residence.  He was born on April 27, 1921 in Blanchester, Ohio to the late Lee and Catherine Vallari Simmons.  He retired from the Gould Corp. in McConnelsville where he was the Plant Superintendent.  He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII where he endured and survived the greatest land Battle.  The Battle of the Bulge.  He was a member of the VFW Post #4713 in Malta.  He is survived by 3 daughters, Georgia Roberts of Atlanta, GA, Kathleen Hoover of Rancho Viejo, Tx, and Holland Miller of Cartersville, GA, 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.  There will be a graveside service with Military Honors on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the McConnelsville Cemetery.  Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville is handling the arrangements.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
