Barbara K. McPeak Barbara K. McPeak of Dresden, formerly of Chesterhill, spending her last few months at the residence of Primrose Retirement Community in Zanesville, went home to be with her Lord on April 21, 2010. She died at the Genesis Morrison House Hospice. Barbara was born in Glouster, Ohio to Frances and Helen Jewel Love. She graduated from Hollister High School. In 1992 she retired from Hudson Health Center, Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, after 25 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Lee, an infant son, James Russell, and a niece and nephew. Her husband, John, of 54 years died December 13, 2007. Barbara loved life, her family, people, and God. She had a special quality of offering comfort to others and always putting them first. She was a member of the Meadowview Church of Christ in Frazeysburg, and the Athens Farm Bureau. She is survived by four children, Yvonne (Bill) Factor of Zanesville, Kathy (Michael) McKenzie of Dublin, Michael (Judy) McPeak of McArthur, and Carol (Jimmy) Dingey of Zanesville, two brothers James Love of Canton, and Ralph Love of Worthington. Barbara was blessed with five grandchildren, Anthea Hammond (Gerry) of Columbus, Jeremie Gifford (Sara) of Zanesville, Alesha Densel (Troy) of Columbus, Michelle Petty (J. C.) of Fort Bragg, N.C., and Melanie McPeak (Nick Sparks) of McArthur; and eight great-grandchildren, Nathan, Nick, Noah, Nash, Nakoda, and Nevin Densel, Jaden Hammond, and Sawyer Gifford. She was also "Little Grandma" to seventeen step-grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with burial following at the Pennsville Baptist Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, April 23, 2010 from 5-8p.m. Pastor Sam Dunn will be officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Meadowview Church of Christ, P.O. Box 87, Frazeysburg, Ohio, in her memory.
