Barbara K. Harvey Melton, age 73 of Ceaderville, Ohio died at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday, December 30 at Liberty of Xenia Nursing Home in Xenia, Ohio. She was born April 1, 1941 in Coolville, a daughter of the late John and Lenora Tabler Harvey. She was a Baptist by faith and worked 33 years for the State of Ohio Department of Labor as a statistation. She was a member of the AFL-CIO Union, the AFSCME, and the MGC in Chesterhill. Surviving are her ex-husband: Amzi Melton of Ceaderville; 2 sons: James D. Qualls and Dwayne E. Qualls, both of Pomeroy; 2 grandchildren; 7 brothers: Elmer, John, William, and Charles Jeffery Harvey all of Columbus, Roger Harvey of Denver, Colorado, Richard Harvey of Cutler, and Arlen Gail Harvey of Virginia; 1 sister: Connie Harris of Columbus. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by 1 son: Blaine Qualls, 3 sisters: Norma Jean Harvey , Wilma Lee Harvey, and Donna Bumgardner; 1 infant brother: John Harvey.Services will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill, Ohio with Pastor John Butcher officiating.
