Barbara G. Bachelor, 82, of Zanesville, passed away at 11:01 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, at the Morrison House in Zanesville.

She was born May 2, 1935, in Morgan County, the daughter of the late Lawrence Newton and Ruby H. Moore Newton.

She was a reviewer for the Department of Job and Family Services, in the Canton District, and worked in the Muskingum County and Morgan County Department of Job and Family Services. She was a member of the Malta United Methodist Church, Valley Chapter OES No. 19 of McConnelsville, and the Y-City Rug Hookers.

She is survived by a daughter, Becky Randolph of Zanesville; grandson, Jerry (Jaclynn) Randolph; three great-grandchildren; brothers, David (Deborah) Newton of Zanesville and John Newton of Tampa, FL.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Bachelor, who died April 6, 2011; infant daughter, Peggy; and brother, Larry Newton.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, at Miller-Huck Funeral Home, in McConnelsville, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, with Pastor Elizabeth Reed officiating.

She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the McConnelsville Cemetery.
