Barry G. Smith, 49 of Malta, died on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 6:22 P.M. at the Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus. He was born on July 14, 1962 in Chesterhill to Tony Smith and Sharron Tate Smith. He worked at Gould Manufacturing in McConnelsville and was a member of the Tabor Ridge Church of Christ and the NRA. He also served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He is survived by his Father, Tony (Cheryl) Smith of McConnelsville, Mother, Sharron Smith of Zanesville, Step-Mother, Dorothy (John) Metcalf of Chesterhill, Partner, Annie Mayle of the home, one son Tyler Norris of Glouster, two brothers, Todd Smith of Zanesville and Danny Mayle of Chandlersville, and one sister, Robin Denman of Zanesville. Services will be held on Monday, January 9, 2012 at 12:00 P.M. at the Mt Hermon Church near Amesville with burial following in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery with Military services provided by the Morgan County veterans association. Friends may call on the family on Sunday, January 8, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill and one hour prior to the services at the church.
