Berenice J. Dawson, 69, of Pennsville, passed away on Weds, June 17, 2026 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born on Feb. 19, 1957 in Chesterhill to the late Shirley and Ruby Vincent Lowers. She worked as a Nurses Aid at the Mark Rest Center in McConnelsville and in her spare time she loved raising her family, gardening and dancing. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, David Dawson of the home, a son, David Lee Dawson of Pennsville, 2 daughters, Stacey Dawson of Zanesville and Wendy Moore of Roseville, 2 brothers, Joe and Jesse Lowers both of Chesterhill, 3 sisters, Barb Finkell of Winter Haven, Becky Hallowell of McArthur and Brenda Lowers-Valentine of Waverly and 8 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Bruce and Johnny Lowers and a sister, Betsy Burns. Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville is handling a caring cremation for the family.
