Berl L. Mendenhall, 78, of McConnelsville, passed away, Sun. Sept. 20, 2026 at his residence. He was born June, 20, 1948 to the late James and Vera Michner Mendenhall in Chesterhill, OH. He served in the Navy, worked as an operator for Gould, was a hospice volunteer for Genesis Hospice, a dispatcher for the sheriff’s office, and retired from Morgan County Transit. He was a very talented artist and woodworker, making custom built violins for people all over the country and judging violin contests. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jane Milligan Mendenhall of the home; son, Matt (Jamie) Mendenhall of Athens; 2 daughters, Alicia Medley of Malta and Jessica Creighton of Stockport; grandchildren, Casey (Gracie) Singree, Matthew (Summer) Mendenhall, Andrew Medley, Kylee Mendenhall and Ava Mendenhall; great grandchildren, Rosie and Dale Singree and Raleigh Mendenhall; and special niece and nephew, Jill Mendenhall and Jeremy Mendenhall. He is preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers, Brent and Russell Mendenhall. A Graveside Service will be held Sun. Oct. 4, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. at Chesterhill Cemetery.
