Bettie L. Harris, 88, of Pennsville, passed away on Aug. 28, 2021 at her residence with her caring and loving family members at her side.  She was born on May 3, 1933 in Marietta, Ohio to the late Harold and Irene Nolan Strickler.  She is survived by 2 sons, Charles Harris of North Carolina and Thomas (Ellen) Harris of Malta, a brother, Lee (Sandy) Strickler of Marietta, 2 grandchildren, Amanda Harris and Chad Harris and 3 great grandchildren, Hailey Marshall, Lyvia Ledford and Collin Blue.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles N. Harris, a sister, Carol Ulmer and a brother, Howard E Strickler.  Bettie was very well known as the "Avon Lady".  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing cards and was a true friend we could turn to.  She was one of our greatest blessings.  A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021 from 6-7 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral home in McConnelsville.  In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations to the Embree Park C/O David Martin.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
