Betty L. Gorrell, 88, of Pennsville, passed away on Thurs, Feb. 18, 2021 at her residence.  She was born on Sept. 25, 1932 in Ravenswood, West Virginia to the late Nelson and Hazel Swain Pierce.  She is survived by her son, Steve (Kandy) Gorrell of Portersville, 2 daughters, Barbara (Bill) Hill of Pennsville and Sarah (Steve) Clifton of Malta, a brother, Junior Ferguson of Malta, 2 sisters, Charlotte White of West Virginia and Rosellen Violand of Aliquipa. PA, 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Lyle Gorrell, son, Larry Gorrell, 3 brothers, Rodney, Olan and Raymond Pierce and 4 sisters, Norma Scott, Margaret Chambers, Sylvia Ferguson and Virginia Baker.  A caring cremation is taking place at her request.  Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville is handling the arrangements.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
