Bill "Wilbur" Payne, 62, of McConnelsville, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021 at his residence.  He was born on Dec. 12, 1958 in Zanesville to the late Gene and Charlotte Evans Payne.  He worked in the Timber business for most of his life and attended the Word of Life Community Church in Beverly.  He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Nancy Wiseman Payne of the home, a son, Justin Payne of McConnelsville, 2 daughters, Jessica (Tim) Newburn of Malta and Carrie (Richard) Duncan of McConnelsville, a brother, Charles Payne of Zanesville, 2 sisters, Patricia Cain of McConnelsville and Charlotte Dickenson of McConnelsville and 3 grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother John Payne and a sister, Betty Wiseman.  A graveside service will be held on Friday, Sept. 10, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dutch Hill Cemetery near Eagleport.  Friends may call on the family 1 hour prior to the services at the cemetery.  Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville is handling the arrangements.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
