Brenda S. Cook Spanks, 61 of Columbus, formerly of Chesterhill, died on Friday, April 22, 2016 at her residence. She was born on Sept. 2, 1954 in Sharpsburg, Ohio to the late Lloyd "Buck" and Damsel Ramsey Cook. She worked in the cleaning industry specializing in warehouses. She attended the Mt. Hermon Church near Amesville and loved the outdoors and fishing. She is survived by 3 daughters, Debbie Norris of Guysville, Leslie Norris of Columbus and Christy Norris of Columbus, 1 brother, Monte Cook of Chesterhill, 1 foster brother, Harry Vore of Cutler, 1 sister, Rhonda Tablor of Belpre, 5 grandchildren, Tenisha, Devin, Ebony, Sawell and Donnay and 2 great granddaughters, Aubree and Emma. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clint Spanks and 2 brothers, Emmett and Greg Cook. Services will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 12:00 P.M. Noon at the Mt Hermon Church near Amesville with Pastor J.R. Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Friends may call on the family on Monday, April 25 from 5-8 P.M. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill and 1 Hour prior to the services at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
