Carl "Fred" King, 73, of McConnelsville, passed away on Tues, June 3, 2025 at the Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus.  He was born on Sept. 25, 1951 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Frances and Dorothy Bartimus King.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.  He worked at the Central Ohio Coal Company and then retired after 27 years from the Ohio Dept. of Transportation.  He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Karen Allen King of the home, 2 daughters, Amanda (Chris) Tompkins of McConnelsville and Chantelle King of Chesterhill, 4 brothers, Michael King of Stockport, Douglas King of McConnelsville, Tony King of McConnelsville and Dave King of Norfolk Va., 2 sisters, Theresa King and Susan King both of McConnelsville and 1 granddaughter, Kendall.  He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jeffery King.  Services will be held on Fri, June 6, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with burial following.  Friends may call on the family from 11-1 P.M. on the day of the services.
