Carlos Lee Scott, 89, of McConnelsville, passed away on Thurs. Jan. 3, 2019 at the Highland Oaks Nursing Home in McConnelsville. He was born in Pennsville, Ohio on May 10, 1929 to the late Earl and Hazel Remy Scott. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and worked out of the Ohio Operating Engineers in Columbus. He was a member of Corinthian Masonic Lodge # 111 in McConnelsville, the 32 Scottish Rite of Cambridge and the Morgan County Farm Bureau. He is survived by his wife, Freda Newburn Scott of the home, a son, Tony Scott of New Lexington, a daughter, Linda Woodyard of Pickerington, granddaughter, Victoria Scott, great grandson, Noah Scott and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, a son Terry Scott, 3 brothers, Virgil, Stanley Vernette and Lawrence Scott, 3 sisters, Grace Cain, Inez Cain and Geneva Demster and a half-sister, Violet Pierce. Services will be held on Monday, Jan. 7, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with Evang. Vernon Eldridge officiating. Burial will follow in the Stockport Cemetery with military honors. Friends may call on the family from 11-1 on the day of the funeral.
