Obituary

Carole Ann Summers 81, of Centerville,Ohio formerly of McConnelsville, passed away at Life Care Hospital in Dayton and went to be with the Lord on August 29, 2017. She was born March 9, 1936 in Portsmouth, Ohio, the daughter of the late Harry and Hazel (Maynard) Craigmiles. She was a school teacher for 30 years, the last 21 years for the Morgan Local School District,  where she retired in 1991. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in McConnelsville and the Ladies Oriental Shrine. The Ohio State University is where she received her teaching degree in 1958 and  she was a huge  buckeye fan. She furthered her education at Ohio University in Zanesville and received a Masters Degree in Education. She is survived by her husband, George R. Summers of Centerville; daughter, Coryn Summers (David) Hooper of Centerville; three grandchildren, Grant(Kate) Hooper, Kyle and Alyssa Hooper; brother John (Janie) Craigmiles of Portsmouth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Craig Summers. Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville where services will be held at 3:00p.m. with Don Stovall officiating. Carole will be laid to rest in McConnelsville Cemetery.
