Carrie M. Lyon, 83, of McConnelsville, passed away at 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

She was born April 2, 1930, in Morgan County, to the late Melvin North and Ethel Roberts North.

Mrs. Lyon was retired from the former Burn's Foodtown of Malta where she had worked as a cashier. She was a member of the Valley Chapter #19 O.E.S. of McConnelsville and the American Legion Post #24 Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia (James) Hayes of Superior, WY; two sisters, Shirley Finley of Malta and Dianna Boyd of Stockport; one brother, Russell North of Glouster; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard E. Lyon; a son, Howard E. "Gene" Lyon; a sister, Flossie Newsom; and a brother, Lee North.

Calling hours will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 24, at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home with Pastor Galen Finley officiating.

She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Malta Cemetery.
