Charles K. Burgett, 67 of McConnelsville, died Monday, May 16, 2011 at 6:39P.M. at his daughters residence. He was born on February 13, 1944 in Pikeville, Kentucky to the late Dave and Veldean Burgette Burgett. He worked as a produce salesman. He was a free will Baptist by faith and he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife Debra Burgett, one son Shawn Burgett of Shawnee, one step-son, Lawrence Maxwell of Caldwell, three daughters, Chrystal (Stanley) Newton of McConnelsville, Melissa Curtis of McConnelsville and Tara (Tonya) Burgett of McConnelsville, one step-daughter, Amanda (James) Fyffe of Pennsville, one sister, Jeanette (John) Taylor of Pennsville, eight grandchildren, Christina, Emily, Andrea, Abby, Sierra, Clayton, Jamie, and Jayla, one great granddaughter, Madison, and his best friend Marion Madden. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a stepson Danny Maxwell. A loving cremation is taking place at Charles's request.
