February 24, 1942 – April 15, 2010
Charles Keith "Hutch" Hutchinson, 68, of Stockport, Ohio, passed away on April 15, 2010 at the Riverside Country Care Center after a brief illness. He was born on Feb. 24, 1942 at Sheltering Arms Hospital in Nelsonville. The son of the late Charles M. and Ella M. Hutchinson, Hutch grew up in Happy Hollow and had perfect school attendance, graduating from Buchtel High School in 1960. Hutch worked with his father in a family coal mine in the hollow, and later worked at Timken Roller Bearing in Columbus and Carborundum in Logan before moving to Stockport. He met many Morgan County friends through his more than 30 years as a master mechanic at American Electric Power in Beverly. Hutch was known for his sense of humor, his storytelling ability, his love of fishing and the outdoors, and his passion for The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was blessed with an abundance of good friends and neighbors. Hutch is survived by his wife of 12 years, Susie (Faires), of Stockport; daughter Heidi (Chris) of Seattle, Wash.; son Heath (Megan) of Nelsonville; stepdaughter Stacy Mason (Rob) of Tyler, Texas; stepson Erik George (Mari) of RAF Lakenheath in England; grandchildren Katelyn, Aiden, Xander and Marcus; and his aunt, Ellen Hutchison of The Plains. He was preceded in death by his previous wife, Debbie Hutchinson. Services will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with burial following at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Nelsonville Ohio. Friends may call on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Boxing for Books.
