Obituary

Charles E. Lewis , 90, of Malta formerly of Akron passed away Tuesday Sept. 13, 2011 at the Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnelsville. He was born June 22,1921 in Akron to the late Charles E. Lewis, Sr. and Elsie Anthony Lewis. He was a retired locamotive engineer for the Penn Central Railroad and was an Army veteran of World War II. Charles attended the University Of Akron and was an amateur pilot. He was a ham radio operator for many years and was a member of Akron Computer Club. He was also a former president of the Ohio Beekeepers Association. He is survived by a daughter, Donna (Dave) Paola of Canton; two grandchildren, David Paola of San Francisco, Calif., and Kathleen Paola of Canton. In addition to his parents; he was preceeded in death by his wife, Sarah Lewis. At his request his body was donated to the Ohio State University College Of Medicine.
