Obituary

Charles F. Smith, 95, of Stockport, Died, on Monday, March 2, 2015 at the Highland Oaks Nursing Center in McConnelsville. He was born on January 9, 1920 in McConnelsville, Ohio to the late Hobart and Daisy B. Devul Smith. Charles and his wife Maxine owned and operated the Stockport Hardware for many years. He served his country as a 2nd lieutenant in the U.S. Army during WWII. He attended the Stockport United Methodist Church in Stockport. He was a member of Webb Masonic Lodge #252 of Stockport, Morgan County Shrine Club, a charter member of the Stockport Vol. Fire Dept. and a life member of the American Legion Post # 24 of McConnelsville, VFW Post #4713 and DAV of Malta. He is survived by his son Brent C. Smith of Stockport, two grandchildren, David (Danielle) Smith of Suffolk, VA. and Trisha (Vernon) Blackburn of Hendersonville TN. and 4 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wife, Laura Maxine McInturf Smith, three brothers, Clyde, Robert and Roger Smith and two sisters, Jean Barrett and Mary Spung. Services will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with Pastor Galen Finley officiating. Burial will follow in the Stockport Cemetery with full Military Honors. Friends may call on the family on Sat. March 7 from 5-8 P.M with Masonic services following at 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Stockport Vol. Fire Dept.
