Charles G. "Sam" Stewart, 79 of Zanesville, formerly of McConnelsville, passed away on Weds., Sept. 23, 2020 at the Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.  He was born on Oct. 21, 1940 in McConnelsville to the late Raymond and Ruth Martin Stewart.  He was a retired truck driver for Neff Trucking.  He attended the McKendree United Methodist Church and was a member of the Neelysville Grange.  He is survived by a son, James Stewart of Hopewell, 3 daughters, Anna Devoll of Zanesville, Judy Ruff of Malta and Carrie Wiseman of Crooksville and 7 grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Gary "Jake" Stewart.  Services will be held on Monday, Sept. 28, 2020 at 12:00 Noon with visitation 1 hour prior to the services at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville.  Burial will follow in the McKendree Cemetery.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
