Clara E. Hunter, 66, of McConnelsville, died Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 5:13p.m. at her home. She was born April 5, 1943 in Cambridge To Henrey E. and Kathryn B. Hook Abrams. She was a nurse's aid and activities director for Parmiter Nursing Home in Malta. She loved to talk and never met a stranger. She is survived by her Mother of Stockport, husband, Bill Hunter of the home, one son Jerry (Kim Gifford) Hunter of McConnelsville, one daughter, Cheryl (Donald) Townsend of McConnelsville, three brothers, Arthur Abrams of McConnelsville, Randy Abrams of Elliot's Cross Roads, and Junior Abrams of Joy, five sisters, Carol Burkhart of Portersville, Jackie Buckus of Cambridge, Barb Gohring of McConnelsville, Linda Ponchack of Stockport and Sarah Vincent of Joy, and one grandson Daniel Reed. Her father preceded her in death. Services will be held Monday, December 14, 2009 at 1:00p.m. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with Rev. David Edgell officiating with burial following at the Meigs Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday, December 14 from 11-1:00p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the funeral home for funeral expenses.
