Clarence O. Bywater 86, of Malta, passed away at 6:50 a.m. March 12, 2016 at Riverside Landing in McConnelsville. He was born November 16, 1929 in Wellsburg, W.Va. the son of Chester Bywater and Effie May. He was a coalminer and worked at Weirton Steel, and Malta Manufacturing Co. He was an Army Veteran of WWII. Surviving are his wife Alein Pugh Bywater whom he married March 22, 1962, daughters Mary (Michael) Weyant of Pennsville, Carolyn (Terry) Anderson of McConnelsville, Margaret Bywater of Malta, sons Clarence William Bywater of Malta and James Bywater of Malta; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters , two brothers and two half brothers.  Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville,  where services will be held at 11:00a.m. Thursday with Pastor Robert Cosgray officiating.  Burial with military honors by the American Legion Color Guard will be in Meigs Cemetery.
