Obituary

Claude A. Turner 91, of Stockport, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family and faith. He was born on July 17, 1923 in Trammel, VA to the late George Tildon and Elsie Harris Turner. He was a WWII Veteran serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp with the 603rd Air Engineer Squadron, 509th Composite Group. He was a retired chemical operator from Allied Chemical Corporation in Nitro W.VA. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving Christian wife of 62 years, Pearl, a brother Donald Turner and a sister Thelma Doyle. He is survived by sons, Timothy Turner of Stockport and Daniel Turner of Nitro, W.VA., daughters, Margaret Turner of Stockport and Romona Thompson (Kenneth) of Charlotte, N.C., granddaughter, Katie Bickett (Nate) of Charlotte, N.C., grandson, Kristofer Thompson of San Diego, CA., two great grandchildren, Maykaylie and Caden Bickett, a brother, Berkley Turner of Fort Royal, VA. and a sister, Evelyn Menefee of Richmond VA. Services will be held on Monday, May, 4, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill with burial following in the Stockport Cemetery with full military honors. Friends may call on the family on Sunday, May 3, 2015 from 6-8 P.M.
