Cody Allen Murphey, 38, of McConnelsville passed away at the Ohio University Hospital.  He was born on Jan. 26, 1985 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Brian and Tina Childers Murphey.  He was a self-employed drywaller.  He is survived by a daughter, Olivia Murphey of Malta, a brother, Brian (Monica) Murphey of McConnelsville, a sister Karissa Murphey of McConnelsville and several nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents.  Services will be held on Fri, Nov. 10, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with burial following in the Malta Cemetery.  Friends may call on the family on Thurs, Nov. 9, 2023 from 5-7 P.M.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
