Columbus Chafin Jr. 66, of McConnelsville, passed away on Sat. April 1, 2023 at his residence.  He was born on March 18, 1957 in Logan, W.VA. to Columbus and Delsie Adkins Chaffins.  He worked as a Training Consultant at Georgia Pacific Resins in Columbus.  He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Deanna Cook Chafin, a step-son, David Nelson of Chapmanville, W.VA, 5 daughters, Debbie Hasenmeier of Columbus, Lisa Privett of Whitman, W.VA, Tina Cole of Whitman, W.VA, Christy Bush of Columbus and Amanda Chafin of Columbus, 3 brothers, James Chaffins of McConnelsville, Darwin Chaffins of Ashville and Ernest Chaffins of Columbus, 14 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his mother.  Services will be held on Weds, April 5, 2023 at 12:00 Noon at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with burial following in the Malta Cemetery.  Friends may call on the family from 10-12 P.M. on the day of the services.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
