Obituary

McCONNELSVILLE - Dana L. "Pete" Clemens, 78, of Malta, passed away at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born April. 22, 1930, in Malta, to the late Raymond and Laura Fleming Clemens. He was a meat cutter for A&P Groceries and retired custodian after 14 years with Morgan High School. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and attended Fairview Mission Church near Bishopville, a life member of VFW Post 4713 in Malta, American Legion Post 24 in McConnelsville and Morgan County Color Guard. He is survived by his wife, Eileen Love Clemens of Malta; one daughter, Rita Perdue of Pickerington; three sisters, Mary Work of Malta, Faith Weaver of Zanesville and Karen Clemens of Malta; one granddaughter, Jordyn Perdue. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Clemens; and one sister, Donna Scott. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, in the East Branch Cemetery, near Bishopville, with Pastor Arnold VanHorn. Military services provided by the Morgan County Color Guard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Matheney Funeral Home, 165 N. Kennebec Ave., McConnelsville, Ohio 43756, to help with funeral expenses.
