Dana Lee Scott, 84 of Pennsville, died at the Marietta Memorial Hospital on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 5:33 P.M. He was born on May 18, 1926 in Pennsville to the late Emmett C. and Faith Best Scott and was a self-employed farmer and owner of Scott Farms; he also was a Penn Township trustee for 16 years. He was a member of the Pennsville United Methodist Church, Malta Grange #717, Morgan County farm Bureau, the fraternal order of Odd Fellows in Chesterhill and a 50 year member of the Pennsville Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife Ruth Hambel Scott of Pennsville, four sons, Kenney Scott, Jerry (Missy) Scott, and Jan (Jaye) Scott all of Pennsville and Dan (Debbie) Scott of Malta, two daughters, Reva (Oba) Vincent of Carlsbad New Mexico, and Ruth Ann Hyett of Malta, two step sons, Mike (Lynda) Irvin of Traverse City Michigan, and Milton Irvin of Los Vegas, Nevada, one foster son, Dave (Peggy) Bowers of Athens, one brother, Dwight Scott of McConnelsville, one sister, Lila Martin of McConnelsville, twelve, grandchildren, Allie (Tim) Embree, Tabitha Tompkins, Kayla Scott, Heather White, Seth (Kayla) Scott, Jeremy Scott, Donna Danielle (Jordon) Pompey, OB Vincent, Kyle Scott, Kira Vincent, Cory Scott, and Ty Vincent, three foster grandchildren, Jr., Cindy and Vicki Bowers, six great grandchildren, Blake and Samatha Embree, Owen White, Drake, Abigail and Calie Tompkins, three step-great grandchildren, Luthein Irvin and Neil and Gail Trumble, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Donna Jean Clemens Scott, four brothers, Norman, Glen, Dale, and Raymond, one sister, Nina and one step grandson Conan Irvin. Services will be held Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with pastor Fred Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Pennsville Cemetery. Friends may call on the family on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Pennsville Vol. Fire Dept. or the Pennsville United Methodist Church.
