Darius R. Chapman, 82, of Stockport, passed away, Fri. July 4, 2025 at Highland Oaks in McConnelsville. He was born May 16, 1943 to the late Leslie and Mildred Hess Chapman in Newton, WV. He was a member of the Pennsville Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife Beverly Fogle Chapman of the home; daughters, Stephanie Chapman of Belpre, Amanda (Kevin) Mace of Stewart, and Sheila (Doug) Roberts of Elmore; brother, Virgil (Emily) Chapman of Bellevue; sister-in-law, Deloris Chapman of Bellevue; 11 grandchildren, Shannon (Terry) Morrison, Shawnna (Joe) Coen, Michael Runyon, Leslie (Jessie) Calentine, Andrea (Curtis) Mayle, Jessica (Steve) Turner, Miranda (Billy) Thomas, Cassandra Calentine, Katie (Nick) Tanthorey, Laticia (Zach) Schaad, and Lakin (Ian) Murphy; 28 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Beverly's sons; Kent (Gwyn) Scott of Athens, Darren (Lisa) Scott of Chesterhill, and Nathan (Kathy Dille) Scott of Stockport, 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Bertha Mae King Chapman; daughter, Angela K. Chapman; brothers, Ira Lee Chapman and Leroy Jr. Chapman; and sister, Jeanna M. McKown. Funeral service will be Tues. July 8, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill with burial following at Pennsville Cemetery. Visitation will be Mon. July 7, 2025 from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to the funeral on Tuesday. Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill is handling arrangements.
