Darrell Gene Rainer, 73, of 6222 S. Tabor Ridge Rd., passed away at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at his home.

He was born October 15, 1939 in Beverly to the late Harold and Virgie Rainer. Darrell was retired from the National Child Safety Council of Jackson, Mi. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran and was a member of the Ohio Police Chief's Association and the Buckeye State Sheriff's Association.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marjorie Carole Evans Rainer; two daughters, Veronica and Brenda both of Colorado; three brothers, Everette Rainer of Dublin, Louis Rainer of Mt. Vernon, and Jerry (Butch) Rainer of Marysville; two step sons, William W. (Susan) Maize of Bluffton and Mark A. (Peggy) Maize of Mt. Perry; six grandchildren, Harley, Zane, Jason, Hunter, Traci L., and M. Brittany.

In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by a step daughter, M. Michelle Allinder; and a brother, Larry Rainer.

At Darrell's request a caring cremation will take place and a private memorial service will be held at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville with Pastor Sam Bumgard officiating.
