David L. Bigart, 78, of Malta, passed away on Sat. Sept. 28, 2024 at his residence.  He was born on June 22, 1946 in Scranton, Pa. to the late Bruce and Anne Lindsay Bigart.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam war and spent his life working as an Electrical Technician retiring from COSI in Columbus.  He is survived by his wife of 54 years Mary Raney Bigart of the home, a brother, Bruce Timothy Bigart of Myrtle Beach, SC and many friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents.  A celebration of life will take place on Weds, Oct. 30, 2024 from 4-6 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cancer Society or to Alzheimer's research.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
