David E. Jones, 85, of Malta, passed away on Mon, April 7, 2025 at the Riverside Hospital in Columbus.  He was born on Jan. 22, 1940 in Elliotts Crossroads to the late Floyd and Maxine Wade Jones.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran and retired after 45 years from Mar Zane Inc.  He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Cheryl Smith Jones of the home, 2 sons, Sean (Shannon) Jones of Crooksville and Mike (Kristie) Jones of Sunbury, a brother Keith (Cathi) Jones of Elliotts Crossroads, 5 grandchildren, Seth, McKenna, McKenzie, Preston and Annabella and his beloved dog, Tobey.  He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Duane Jones.  Services will be held on Thurs, April 10, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with burial following at the Malta Cemetery.  Friends may call on the family from 11-1 P.M. on the day of the services.
