David L. Matthews Sr., 86, of Malta, passed away Mon, Aug. 10, 2026, at his residence. He was born May 22, 1940 in Columbus, OH to the late Alfred and Gladys Matthews. He was a Minister and a true man of faith. He is survived by 3 sons, David Matthews Jr. of Upper Arlington, Noah Matthews of McConnelsville, and Benjamin Matthews of Zanesville; a daughter, Rachel Matthews of Dallas TX; a brother, Freddy Matthews of Ypsilanty, MI; a sister, Jackie Patrick of Dayton; and several grandchildren & great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Abi Matthews; and sisters Althea Adams & Freda Harrell. Funeral Service will be held Sat. Aug. 29, 2026 at 12 Noon, at Malta Methodist Church.
