Dean E. Secoy, 85, of Bartlett, Ohio passed away at the Marietta Memorial Hospital on Sat. Feb. 7, 2015 after a brief illness. He was born on Feb. 23, 1929 in Cutler to the late William and Eiffie Newell Secoy. He worked as a laborer for over 23 years out of the International Operators Union #18 in Cleveland and was a farmer. He served his country during WWII as a Corporal in the U.S. Army from 1946-1947 where he was stationed in Japan. He was a member of the Moose Lodge # 1823, Marietta, American Legion Post #389, Beverly, Eagles # 1443, Marietta, VFW Post 5108, Marietta and a fifty year member of Bartlett Grange #809. He is survived by a sister, Cleo Smith of Alabama and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife of fifty years Eileen Secoy, a son, Dana Secoy, six brothers, George, Carl, Clyde, Earl, Clarence and Cecil, two sisters, Leoma and Nellie. Services will be held on Weds. Feb. 11, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill with burial following at the Bartlett Cemetery. Friends may call on the family on the day of the funeral from 11-1 P.M. at the funeral home.
