Delbert F. Bennett Jr., 75 of Amesville, died Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 2:15 P.M. at his residence. He was born on July 3, 1936 in Kanawa West Virginia to the late Delbert F. and Ruby M. Joy Bennett. He retired from DuPont in Parkersburg in 1985 after 26 years of service as a mechanic. Delbert served as the Pastor of the Mt. Hermon Church near Amesville for the last 15 years and also pastured numerous other churches in the area. He was an avid Fox and Coyote hunter and loved farming. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Dollettea Norman Bennett of the home, 3 sons, Dennis (Charlotte) Bennett, Dave (Carolyn) Bennett and Daniel Bennett all of Amesville, 2 daughters, Deana (Marvin) Clark of Beverly, and Darlena (Everett) Clark of Amesville, 2 sisters, Marie Wright of Parkesburg and Margie (Charlie) Roberts of Parkersburg, 14 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, one son Dale and one Great granddaughter, Jennifer Dawn. Services will be held on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Bethel Wesleyan Church with Rev. Paul Hagen officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Friends may call on the family on Sunday, July 10, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill and one hour prior to the services at the church.
