Delmer A. Wells, age 85, of Chesterhill,Ohio, passed away at 8:15 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2013 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. Born on December 24, 1928 in Dexter City, Ohio, he was a son of the late Ernest and Naomi Combs Wells. Delmer was a farmer, an oilfield worker for Murray Carr Drilling Company, and a United States Air Force Veteran. He attended the Chesterhill Church of The Nazarene. He is survived by his wife, Minnie Fogle Wells, of the home; 3 sons: Richard and Jerry of Chesterhill, and Jeffery of Malta; 3 daughters: Twila Jean Wells of Chesterhill, Rebecca Lynn Clawson and husband Steve of Columbus, and Betty Lou White and husband Greg of Stockport; 9 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, and 3 brothers: Robert Wells of Dungannon, Russell Wells and wife Nellie of Sharon, and Paul Wells and wife Ruth of Caldwell. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Earl. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill with Pastor Charles Simmons officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Chesterhill.
