Dewey B. Geddes, 73, of Zanesville formerly of Pennsville, died Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 12:07 A.M. at the Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville. He was born May 25, 1937 in Pennsville to the late Wayne and Sheila Bailey Geddes. Dewey worked as a baggage handler for TWA Airlines in St. Louise and in Columbus. He was a member of the Sharon Avenue Free Methodist Church in Zanesville, and a 50-year member of Webb #252 Masonic Lodge in Stockport. He is survived by his wife Clara Ray Geddes of Zanesville, one son, Darren Geddes of Delaware, three step sons, Douglas Adams of Crooksville, and Robert and Gary Adams both of Zanesville, two daughters, Lisa VanCleef of Cleveland, and Kristin Berpo of Shirley Mass., one step daughter Suzanne Spears of Zanesville, nineteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Dewayne, Dow and Bill Geddes. Services will be held Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with Pastor George Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in the Pennsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11-1 P.M. on the day of the funeral at the funeral Home.
