Diane Coplan, 73, of Columbus, died on Monday, July 17, 2023 at 12:08 P.M. at the Doctors Hospital in Columbus.  She was born on June 26, 1950 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Delbert and Ruth Shaffer Dixon.  She was a retired Correction Officer for the State of Ohio in Columbus for 25 years.  She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John Leroy Coplan III, her parents and their 2 dogs, Hammer and Sassey.  She is survived by 3 sons, John L. (Jill) Coplan IV of Columbus, Joseph D. (Jodi) Coplan of Columbus and Jeffrey L. (Cheri) Coplan of Columbus, a daughter, June M. Coplan of Columbus and 5 granddaughters, Alexandria, Jayla, Janey, Alyssa and Briana.  A caring Cremation is taking place at her request.  Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville is handling the arrangements.  To send a condolence go to www.matheneyfh.com.
