Donald Lee Flowers, age 66, of Cutler, Ohio, died at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born April 28, 1945 in Stewart, Ohio, a son of the late Henry and Dorothy Holbert Flowers. He was a Marine Veteran of the Viet Nam War , serving his country from 1963 to 1968. Donald retired from Globe Metallurgical after 25 years. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Mayle Flowers, of the home; 2 daughters: Lisa Flowers-Clements and husband Wayne of Cutler, and Amanda Flowers of Columbus, Ohio; 2 grandchildren: Kyondra and Lawayne Clements of Cutler; 7 sisters: Gladys Honesty of Fleming, Ohio, Bonnie Adams and Almeda Tabler, both of Zanesville, Ohio, Donna Harris of Columbus, Ohio, Connie Mayle of Chesterhill, Ohio and Melba Evans and Dolly Walker, both of Athens, Ohio. Preceding him in death, other than his parents, were 2 brothers: Larry Flowers and Floyd Andrew Flowers. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2011, 4:00 p.m., at the Southland Church in Cutler. Donald's ashes will be buried in Mt. Liberty Cemetery at a later date.
