Donald Clair Nelson, 70, of Malta, died Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 5:16p.m. at the Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville. He was born on February 11, 1939, in Langsville Ohio to the late Clair O. and Eleanor Miller Nelson. He was a truck driver for Rohrbaugh Trucking in Caldwell and was a member of the Star Grange #327 in Dexter. He is survived by his wife Wanda Smith Nelson of the home whom he married December 22, 1959, two sons, Terry Nelson of Malta, and Randy and Trista Nelson of Malta, one daughter, Clara and Craig Richardson of Malta, one brother, Dwight Nelson of Orlando, Fla. and Five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Gary Nelson and one brother, Cecil Nelson. Services will be Monday, January 11, 2010 at 1:00p.m. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with burial following at the Nelson Cemetery near Dexter. Friends may call from 11-1p.m. on the day of the funeral.
