OBITUARY for DONALD RICHARD NORTH, 93 Donald Richard North, 93, died on October 14, 2018, in the comfort of his home in Chesterhill, Ohio. Donald passed peacefully in his sleep with his family by his side. Donald was born April 14, 1925 (in Sharpsburg, OH) to Carlos & Effie North, as their only son. He was a 1943 graduate of Chesterhill High School in Chesterhill, OH. Donald was a World War II Veteran, serving overseas in the Combat Engineers until honorably discharged on April 12, 1946. Donald married Margaret Dille on June 22, 1946 and started their family. Donald and family moved to Southgate, Michigan in 1949, where he began employment at BASF Wyandotte Chemical Co. until he retired in 1981, at which time, he returned to his home town of Chesterhill, OH. Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping & woodworking. He was a member of the McConnellsville American Legion, VFW, NRA and a Boy Scout Leader for over 30 years. He was quick to lend a hand to friends and neighbors in his community. Donald is survived by his wife of 72 years, Margaret Dille North of Chesterhill, OH; Daughter: Bonnie Lee Kulchar of Lincoln Park, MI; Sons: Thomas Edward (Debbie) North of Lewiston, MI; Larry James (Theresa) North of River Rouge, MI; and Shannon Dale North of Carrollton, OH. 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos & Effie North; his only sibling, Delores Shook of Chesterhill, OH; his oldest son, USMC Corporal Donald Richard North Jr. In an effort to follow Donald's last wishes, there will be no service or calling hours. Donald's wishes were to be cremated and have a grave-side memorial with Military Honors. The grave-side service will be held at Bartlett Cemetery in Bartlett, OH on April 14, 2019. The time of the service will be posted in March or April.
