Donald J. Smith 83, of McConnelsville, passed away at 4:28 p.m. January 15, 2018 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark. He was born June 2, 1934 in Zanesville the son of the late Joe Smith and Beulah Sharp Smith. He was a surveyor and worked at Miba Bearings in McConnelsville, attended the Main Street Church of Christ in McConnelsville. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the Bartlett Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Janice Locke Smith; daughters, Marilyn Pritt of Frazeysburg, Lisa Duncan of McConnelsville, and Yvonne Smith of Frazeysburg; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, and a sister, Mary McPeek of Malta. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half sister, Nancy Mills and a half brother, Eddie Nelson. Friends may call 11:00 a.m. to 1:00p.m. Friday, January 19, 2018 at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Burial with military rites by the American Legion  Color Guard will be in Malta Cemetery.
