Donna Jean Collins, 71 of 2763 W. Poplar Ridge Rd. N.W. Malta passed away Friday, September 16,2011 at 3:30 p.m. at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born May 29,1940 in Morgan County to the late Bernard Newsom and Flossie North Newsom.

Donna was a loving mother and was retired from the Fraternal Order Of Eagles #2187 in McConnelsville where she had worked as a bartender for 27 years. She was a member of the V.F.W. Post #4713 Auxillary in Malta and was an avid bowler. She also loved animals and gardening.

She is survived by a daughter, Lorie Collins of Dresden; two sons, James W. Collins, Jr. of Marietta and Robert Leroy Collins of Malta; three grandchildren, James T. Collins, Scott E. Collins and Joshua Robert Collins; two sisters Phyllis Newberry of McConnelsville and Lora Liff of Malta; three brothers Tom Newsom of Lincolnton, N.C., Eugene Newsom of Portersville, and Milton Newsom of Malta. In addition to her parents she was preceeded in death by her husband James W. Collins and a brother John Newsom.

Calling hours will be Monday September 19, 2011 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville where a funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. An Eagles service will be at 8:00 p.m. Monday.
