McCONNELSVILLE - Donna Gaile Dew, 71, of Melody Lane, McConnelsville, passed away at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at her home. Born Jan. 12, 1938, to the late William Guild and Katherine Mell Kester, she retired from the Ohio Department of Human Resourses after 20 years and after several years at the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles. She was a graduate of M & M High School, attended Main Street Church of Christ McConnelsville and was a member of the Valley Chapter 19 OES for 48 years in McConnelsville, where she was a past worthy matron and secretary for 23 years. She is survived by one son, Brian (Sheryle) Dew of Zanesville; two daughters, Camilla (Paul) Smith Beverly and Julia (Dave) Davis of McConnelsville; six grandchildren, Jeff Smith, Sheri Larrick, Jim Dew, Keri Davis and Kate and Kraig Dew; three great-grandchildren, Tayler Davis and Spencer and Logan Smith; and one brother, Roger Kester of McConnelsville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde R. Dew; one brother, Leo Vern Kester; and one sister, Joanne Kester. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today Jan. 23, at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville, with OES services at 8:30 p.m. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at the funeral home, with Evangelist Rik Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Malta Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the M&M Squad McConnelsville or Genesis Hospice of Zanesville.
