Donnie E. Gohring, 70, of Stockport went to be with his Lord and Savior at 3:50 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2016 surrounded by his loved ones at The James Cancer Center in Columbus. He went peacefully after a long illness. His parents were Don and June Krietz Gohring. He married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Abrams on Feb. 15, 1964 and to this marriage were born three children. Donnie worked as a farm hand in his younger years, J-Line Corp., but later he started his own business, in 1969, timbering out woods. He loved his work and helped provide jobs to many families. In 2002, because of health reasons, Donnie retired. He was a member of the Loggers Chapter and the Stockport Church of Christ. Surviving are two daughters, Pam (Allen) Dingey of McConnelsville and Connie Dew (Rick) of Crossville,Tenn.; a brother, Gary (Ruth) Gohring of Stockport; two sisters, Judy (George) Fleming of Malta and Barb Knox of Beverly. He was blessed with one granddaughter, Kelly Dew of Cleveland, Tenn.; three grandsons,Tim (Shanna ) Dew of Malta, Derek (Kendra) Dingey of Dayton, and Danny (Amber Wogan) Dingey of McConnelsville. He will be missed by an extended family and friends. Those deceased besides his parents and wife were a son, Danny Ray Gohring; a sister, Tess Hottinger; brother-in-law, Don Hottinger; and father-in-law, Henry Abrams. Calling hours will be Sunday, November 6, 2016 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville where funeral services will be held Monday, November 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Greg Marquis officiating. Donnie will be laid to rest in Stockport Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Stockport Church of Christ, M. & M. Fire Dept. E.M.S. or to the Stockport Fire Dept.
