Dorothy J. Best Norris, 93, of McConnelsville, passed away at 4 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Riverside Landing Health Center in McConnelsville.

She was born April 10, 1920, in Marion County the daughter of the late Grover G. Almendinger and Ruth A. Reynolds Almendinger. She was a housewife and a member of the Malta United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two daughters Sally A. (Randy) Tompkins of Zanesville, Pamala A. (Roger) Rainer of Caldwell, two sons Roger L. (Sandra) Best of Statts Mill, WV, and Danny S. (Susanne) Best of McConnelsville; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; sisters Mary Clawson of McConnelsville and Betty White of Malta.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Robert W. Best and her second husband Raymond W. Norris; two sons Rance C. Best and Robert William Best Jr.; sisters Geraldine Reed and Freda Ruth Bankes, and one brother Ben Almendinger.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 7, at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 8, with Pastor Galen Finley officiating.
