Dorothy L. "Dolly" Spencer, 87, of McConnelsville passed away at 12:23 a.m. Thursday, Sept.13, 2012 at the Forest View Health Center in Zanesville.

She was born February 2, 1925, to the late Elizabeth Roach Mark and Allan Mark in West Virginia.

She was employed at the Morgan County Health Department most of her life. She also enjoyed working for the McConnelsville Cemetery for over 50 years. She served on the Board of the Morgan Metropolitan Housing Authority, helped with the Morgan PREP Center, and always looked forward to working the Rabies Clinic.

She is survived by one son, John (Esther) Lawrence of Columbus, OH; and two daughters, Jody Spencer (Jim Adornetto) of Zanesville, and Beth Shrivers of Columbus, OH; seven grandchildren, Chris (Mandi) Shrivers of Centerville, OH, Mackenzie (Manual) Chavez of Cincinnati, OH, Mandy (Rob) Brownrigg of Springboro, OH, Debbie (Guy) Patete of Buckeye Lake, OH, Mark (Joanna) Lawrence of Pickerington, OH, Anika Lawrence of Columbus, OH, and Rio Conchita Consuelo Marie Spencer of Zanesville, OH: loving great-grandchildren are Michael Rider, Joshua Westmorland, Jonathan and Alex Lawrence, Luke and Eliza Shrivers, Cecelia, Jillian, Finley, and Gabrielle Chavez, Cole, Reilly and Gavin Brownrigg; and her beloved cat, Sadie Jo.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a favorite aunt and uncle, Mae and Dale Gould of Clarksburg, WV; and a special son- in-law Randy Shrivers.

Friends and family may call 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville. The immediate family will hold a private service with Pastor Galen Finley officiating. Burial will follow in the beautiful McConnelsville Cemetery.
