Dorothy "Evelyn" Waite Blind Mitchell STOCKPORT: Dorothy "Evelyn" Waite Blind Mitchell, age 87 of Stockport, Ohio, passed away at 10:20 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2014 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born in Gastown, Ohio on November 27, 1926, a daughter of Jerry S. and Geraldine Yarnell Waite. She was married to Ralph L. Blind and later to Kenny Mitchell, who both preceded her in death. Evelyn was a High School graduate, was a wonderful homemaker, a member of the Dale United Methodist Church and the Dale Ladies Aide. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Fred and Karen Blind of Malta, Ohio, Phillip and Doris Blind of Dale, Ohio, and John and Mary Blind of Waterford, Ohio; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jan and Larry Allman of Dale, Ohio and Tammie and Ed Martin of Waterford, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Shirley Hartleben and husband Hubert of Stockport, Ohio. Other than her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy and Tommy Waite; one sister, Elaine Welch; one grandson, one grandaughter, and one great-great grandson. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the Dale United Methodist Church in Dale. Burial will be in the Dale Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday, February 3, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill and one hour prior to the service in Dale on Tuesday.
